BOX CAMERA MAKERS

From Finland to Malaysia, from India to the United States, box camera enthusiasts have constructed and creatively adapted their own kamra-e-faoree and similar cameras worldwide. Contributors to this gallery used both traditional and recycled materials including old cameras lenses and bellows, and even bicycle brakes and billiard balls in their designs. And while most stick with using photographic paper as a negative, others experiment in the realms beyond. Thanks to: Billy Basque, Sebastien Bergeron & Justine Montmarché, Ángel Borrué aka. Papel Salado, Douglas Donavan, Suvi & Grimm Van Gestel, Jason Jilg, Jefferey Lim, Arpan Mukherjee, Jeff Parry aka. Zombizi, Conrado Pinamontti, Daryl Tebutt, Jon Willets and Hans Zeeldieb. A manual with instructions on how to build a kamra-e-faoree can be downloaded here.
